This is a text score. There are no set notes, rhythms, or lyrics, but instead, instructions for structured improvization. It can be performed by any group, regardless of musical background, and every performance will be different. In ritual, they can be used for invocations and devocations, group meditation, raising or holding energy, building confidence in one's voice and body, or any other purpose.
The drum beat begins (any slowish steady rhythm is fine). Imagine or feel the light of the Moon on your skin. Make it into music. Those who feel called begin to sing “Luna, Luna” on any notes, listening to each other as they do so, and developing into harmonies. At first, everyone sing in the same rhythm, then start branching off, experimenting with other rhythms, melismas, or even leaving the word behind or adding new Moon-related words as you feel called, but always listening back to the group. Once the energy has peaked, choose something someone else is singing, and sing the same thing along with them. Repeat until everyone is singing in unison, and fade out.
